American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life this weekend, July 30-31, 2011. It will be non stop walking around the clock to battle cancer at the American Cancer Society’s event that runs Saturday through Sunday.
According to event organizers, team members, armed with tents and sleeping bags, will gather atHelen Bernstein High School on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. for an overnight campout against cancer.
After soliciting pledges from friends, family, neighbors and colleagues, participants will take turns walking or running around the track, join fun activities off the track, and share their experiences of courage, hope, and inspiration with each other.
“Because cancer never sleeps, relays are overnight events to pay homage to all the courageous people affected by cancer,” team organizers said.
The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a life-changing, family-oriented community event that celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and empowers individuals and communities to fight back against a disease that affects so many.
